Paddy from Henry Schein Ireland helps raise money for Jack and Jill Children's Foundation
Paddy from Henry Schein Ireland and fellow cyclists at the Naas Cycling Club have raised €41,000 for the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation.
The final total will pay for 2277 nursing hours and is well above the initial goal of 1000 – an incredible achievement by any measure.
For this fundraising initiative, members of the Naas Cycling Club cycled from Ireland’s most southerly to most northerly point nonstop in 24 hours.
The route features some of the country’s most challenging roads and was over 570km. To make this even tougher, the group had to maintain an average speed of 28km per hour to arrive within the target time of under 24 hours – they did this with just three minutes to spare!
The Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation is a national charity that provides home nursing care for children under six years of age who have life limiting conditions.
Paddy said: “I would like to say a very big thank you from the team, Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation and myself to everyone who supported this challenge. The amount raised is far beyond our expectations and will have a positive impact on support provided to families and their children by the Foundation.
“Unfortunately, an hour before the start of the challenge I had to pull out as I tested positive for Covid, but I am delighted for the team for what they have achieved.”
